The extensive collection of statues of Matthias Braun offers the Valeč Castle, which is far from the end of its attractiveness

The Valeč Chateau enables tourists to inspect two circuits, the first is the 2020 exposition of twenty -eight Braun statues in the Lapidarium located in the former smithy.

In connection with the 43 -year -long stay of statues in the Lapidarium of the Monastery in Kladruby, the reason for the relocation, which was the fateful fire of the Valeč chateau in 1976.Before that, after the announcement of the Beneš decrees, the castle was confiscated and initially served as a sanatorium for recovering war veterans, replaced by children from Korea and subsequently "ours", ie it became a children's home.

It was in the era of this use that a big fire broke out in the castle - certainly a director could be able to get, similar to the river for a doll (where the "abused poor" was nice, perhaps Devil, Kvít) that it was similarly conspiracy.children.

The investigation unambiguously confirmed the penetration of the fire with the joints in the chimney on the bearing beam and the fiery tap was proudly inflated at that time.And as a monster, there was no need to reach the range of water, so the fire was difficult to dispose of and the castle did not recover from the destruction to this day.

As the rescue and renewal of the chateau continues, the second circuit - the castle interiors - is acquainted.Like the lapidarium is without a guide, so there is no need to wait for the time of entry and it is possible to go through the object according to your own.Tickets for both circuits are selling a laundry serving as a source of information and refreshments.

In the building it is possible to see both the parts of the repaired and the renewal process just waiting.This year's novelty is the permanent audiovisual exhibition of late Gothic frescoes from the extinct cemetery church.Wolfganga in the Doupov Mountains, whose Valeč is an imaginary gateway.

In many rooms there are artistic exhibitions - at present, for example, the mysterious paintings of Roman Hudziec, evoking the world of forest forests, not by chance the whole cycle is called wooding.Figures in turn present competition work from the international contest of young artists, where it is quite obviously the topic of a human figure.

When visiting Valč, it is not possible to omit the chateau church with the Holy Trinity Column, the part of the architect František Maxmilián Kaňka, realized by Matyáš Braun's workshop.The Baroque sculpture of Calvary nad Valčí culminated in the Stations of the Cross of 1741, after the war dilapidated and today renewed.

Valeč can hardly be seen with everything in the area in one day, the possibility of accommodation also offers the chateau, the house of the chateau chaplains, Valečská distillery or near the nature of Hamerský domku.

After only four kilometers, the total peace of mind provides under the Valeč village Nadřečice with since 1964 a listed church of SV.Wenceslas and with also previously dilapidated and renewed small reverent cemetery, where there is a wonderful view of the region.

The fully renewed Chyše chateau lies only 10 kilometers south - more here, a little further, more precisely by 17 km, it is a significant pilgrimage church of Skocok, and thus by far the offer of attractions in the area does not end there.
