A henna tattoo crippled Kaya (4) for life: The painful end of a holiday in Egypt

At the turn of April and May, the family went to the Egyptian resort of Marsa Alam to the Malikia Beach Resort Abu Dabbab. The parents had their son tattooed with henna the very next day. The picture didn't turn out very well, so the day before departure, an employee of the hotel salon "fixed" it.

She advised sex with a lover or "kicking out cancer". She also went crazy with her education, the university said

“After returning home, Kájík's temperature rose to almost forty and his skin was red. The very next day we went to the pediatrician and she immediately started antibiotics. The next day, the son's condition worsened sharply. The wound started to bleed and the pediatrician sent us to the hospital. Here, the doctor applied ointment and compresses," says Jana's mother.

Both parents blamed each other very much for having their son tattooed and causing him so much pain and complications. The wound on his hand looked like it had been burned with acid. Caius was then left with large scabs and it is likely that he will have a memory of Egypt in the form of a giant scar on his hand.

"When getting a henna tattoo, it is usually not a classic injection of dye under the skin, but only about rubbing the skin surface. So it would seem that this is a completely safe temporary skin coloration. So why did the little boy in the photos have ugly blisters and scabs on his skin that might not end up scarring the beautified area? Unfortunately, I have already encountered such a result," says dermatologist Professor MUDr. Petr Arenberger explains: "The yellow-brown color of the picture is usually not enough for the Tater people in the coastal areas." That is why they sometimes add large amounts of paraphenylenediamine (PPD) to the henna dye paste. This will give them a practically black color. But PPD is a known allergen. A sensitive individual, who initially may not even be sensitive to this substance in the past, can develop an allergic reaction within 14 days to three weeks with the formation of blisters, scabs and, with a bit of bad luck, subsequent infection of open wounds and scars. For an allergy sufferer or a small child, this will happen in just 24 to 48 hours."
