The Sun House in the Observatory in Úpice awaits reconstruction this year
Záměrem kraje je zrekonstruovat Sluneční dům tak, že zde vytvoří moderní návštěvnické a odborné centrum shromážděním většiny astronomických pozorovacích výstupů a dat do jednoho místa. V rámci projektu s názvem Návštěvnického a odborného pozorovacího astronomického centra vznikne v objektu Slunečního domu takzvaná pozorovací místnost a pracoviště pro vizualizaci a pozorování včetně meteorologického a seismického stanoviště, do kterého povedou výstupy z celooblohových kamer, registrace meteorů a případně dalších měření.

Subsidies under the Call of the Ministry for Regional Development to Support Tourism will help with the financing of the project.Councilor of the Hradec Králové Region have already approved the submission of an application for this subsidy.It is assumed that construction work, including the supply of interior equipment, will cost about 3.5 million crowns including VAT, where the aforementioned subsidy could account for 50 % of expenditures from the total budget.
The Region plans to launch work in the autumn of 2022.
The folk observatory in Úpice (near Trutnov) was founded in 1959.Is intended for the general public.It offers an excursion for kindergartens, schools and other ordered groups, evening observations, observatory nights, camp bases and, of course, popular lectures for the public.The observatory focuses on the observation of the Sun, RadioAstronomy and Astrophotography.
