Its three owners have turned it into a cottage, but they also want to establish a cultural center in it that would serve the entire island.

There remains a child in every man. This is certainly true of Ali Hughson, who built a hobbit-like house in his garden in South Queensferry, near Edinburgh. Carpenter Ali spent several months on the job. He planted flowers around the house and added boxes to attract bees, installed wood-burning stones in the workshop so that he could be in the house even in winter. He was most worried about the round door, but to no avail - it turned out perfectly on the first try.
