A twelve -year -old girl named Bára moved to the countryside with her parents from Prague and she bothers her a little bit.But on the other side with the purchase of a family house, she also got a cat Barča.In addition, own magical atlas that can transfer it to the past.This time she got to Maria Theresa.And a walk through the rose garden was definitely not.Found herself in some forest but had no idea of where she was located.When she got somehow from the forest to the road, she was stopped by a car pulled by a horses.There was an older man named Kučera.He tried to extract from Bára where he is and where he is heading.

Of course she couldn't tell him who he was and where she was because he wouldn't believe her.So he took her to the parish to the parish priest and his housekeeper Mandalans.Here too they tried to get her origin from Bára, but in vain.She thought of nothing better than saying she didn't remember anything at all.Everyone regretted her, only Mandalena was quite annoying at the beginning.The priest urged her to eat.Was quite uneasy about not eating Bára using bare hands, and when she told him she was used to eating a fork, he just smiled.Then he asked the mandala to put Bara together her garment, which was very torn.

Bára learned everything to know the woman and girl of that time, so all the handicrafts and also ticked in the kitchen.She also recognized Vojta, a poor bachelor who has a cottage, but there is a slave in a way because he no longer has his parents and lives with him stepfather and his new wife.Vojta liked Hanči, which was the daughter of Kučera who took Bara on the parish.But Kučera had for her Jakub, son of a rich farmer.Jakub was not a bad boy but Hanči didn't like him.Returned Vojta's feeling, but unfortunately it had no future.

Kučera eventually arranged to take Vojta to the war.Bára decided not to let it do so and set out to find Queen Maria Theresa to write her a sign so that Bára could get Vojta home home.So she took a little money and set out on foot on a journey.On the way, a rogue stopped her, overgrown and dirty.Nobody anywhere and Bára was, of course, worried.The vagrant wanted to steal her what she had in the knot, so they dragged for a while and Bara called for help when a carriage stopped with a noble Countess von Katzenburg.She took her to the carriage and eventually took her to the castle, where Maria Theresa was located.

Bára got through the lusti to Maria Theresa.She told it all, and she promised her a sign, at the same time Bára offered to stay in the castle for a while and make a companion to one of her daughter - Lisa.Through the initial distance, both girls made a lot of friends with each other.Bára had a wish to become a princess and was given to her.She thought she didn't have to do anything but she was wrong.She had been charged every day from morning to evening, mainly by learning.Bára was already annoyed, but she had to submit to.There was not only Lisa at the chateau, but also other children of Maria Theresa and the oldest was Mariana, in which the young Vikomt Filip looked at.

Unfortunately, despite Marian's sympathy, this feeling could not fully express himself because it did not fit socially, the Archduchess and the Vikomt - that could not go together.Bára in time at the castle revealed even such a small plot.Queen Maria Theresa was secretly visited by a guy, and Bára thought they had a love receiving together, but she was wrong.Bára after the ball, which was organized in honor of Maria Theresa, returned with Countess von Katzenburg back to the parish and also arrived for Vojta to the war.They brought him home, but there did not turn out according to the ideas of Bára or Vojta.

This book is very good, just like all of this edition.I definitely recommend that the children read it because there are essential historical facts that may not yet know.Perhaps only the fact that the main character Bára is, in my opinion, stiffened in some things that she should know long ago when she has been going to school for a long time.
