A flourishing holiday resort in Podkrkonoší would not be complete without a well

The garden, carefully built over more than thirty years, has a traditional, simple and beautiful story. Husband and wife Vaverk founded it in 1981, they acquired a plot of land with a cottage in the beautiful Podzvičín region in Podkrkonoší from Mrs. Ludmila's grandmother.

Both liked the place very much. In her childhood, the lady used to go here to visit her grandmother for holidays, later she and her husband and children went here for holidays. And in the 1990s, they moved to the cottage permanently so that everything could be repeated: now their grandchildren go to visit their grandparents here on vacation.

And the garden manages it, because there is plenty of space for children to run wild. Ball games or quiet moments on the swing are no problem. A small above-ground pool provides swimming, without which it would not be possible.

Similar to not having your own well. The owner of the house humbly admits that without her, all the plants in the garden built over decades would wither.

The garden is dominated by conifers, rhododendrons and azaleas. lawn.

And how did they start with the garden? "First of all, we established a rock garden, which was very popular at the time, in front of the gable wall. Then we cut down the old barren fruit trees above and below the cottage and gradually planted this area with ornamental plants. First conifers, then came rhododendrons, azaleas, annuals and heathers," Stanislav Vaverka describes the very beginnings of construction.

They looked for inspiration wherever they could. In magazines, books, with similarly "disabled" friends and in our gardens and when traveling around Europe.
