Zlín will see the reconstruction of the square: it will be clearer in September
Proposals for the solution of the public space of Peace Square in Zlín and its immediate surroundings are eagerly awaited.
"The organizer of the competition should limit the competitors only to the amount of costs, ie the money that the city has at its disposal for the implementation," said Jiří Gebrian, the former chief architect of Gottwald and Zlín.

"The skills of Czech architects, especially the youngest ones, are respectable in terms of creativity and expertise," he added.
An architectural and urban planning competition should be announced at the end of March.
"The project is in the initial preparation phase. We are approaching the reconstruction with maximum concentration, also because it is the liveliest and most visited part of Zlín, "said Mayor Miroslav Adámek, who initiated the reconstruction of the square.
Proposals will be published only after evaluation.
"Given the planned two competition rounds, we assume that it will not be until September.
We are now preparing an announcement, the competition conditions are being finalized, "said Ivo Tuček, head of the spatial planning department, adding that the general sequence is as follows: processing of assignments, announcements, processing and submission of proposals, evaluation and publication.
THE COMPETITION WILL CHECK THE POSSIBILITIES
The aim of the competition is to find a new view of the historically designed square, which is the center of cultural and social events of the city. "The competition also includes the connection of the adjoining Rašínova streets and the eastern part of Bartošova street," said the mayor.
The proposals should also include the solution of the area of the previously built house block between the paved part of the square and Tomas Bata Avenue. To this day, only one object remains of it.
The architectural design should present not only the development of the quality of life in Zlín, but also show the solution of public simplicity, including materials, placement of furniture and stages, lighting and greenery. The competition is being prepared in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Architects. The preparation has been going on since about the middle of last year.
"It was necessary to gather the requirements of the individual authorities of the city itself," Tuček added.
Important property owners in the square were also interviewed.
"A huge benefit of the competitions organized is the examination of the possibilities offered by the building," explains Ivo Tuček.
According to him, they are more organizationally and financially demanding, but with optimally set parameters, they will provide the announcer with a large number of different proposals, from which it is then possible to choose.
