Singer Júlia Hečková bought a ruin outside Prague. Today it is a beautiful villa

"We lived near the Střešovice hospital, there is a very busy street, which is used not only by trams, but also by ambulances with lighthouses on. It was just too noisy for us, "explained Júlia Hečková. She and her husband searched for a long time until they managed to find their dream house within driving distance of Prague.

His only, but relatively significant, flaw was his condition, which could only be defined by the most affluent in the most imaginative fantasy. This is also confirmed by the lady of the house. "It simply came to our notice then. There was rubbish on the ground floor, the house was neglected, there was humidity everywhere. It is impossible to calculate how much waste was exported from here, "says Hečková.

Today, however, the situation is much better than five years ago, when the couple began reconstruction. "It took a huge amount of work, but the villa looked beautifully. During the lockdowns, I was able to have fun in the garden. Originally, it was not a garden at all, but a jungle where one was afraid to enter. There are bushes, tufts and turf grass everywhere, trees planted, but in short, horror, ”says Júlia, adding that she set out to restore the garden.

"A lot of things were thrown away, we planted new flowers and I cared about the color combination, so there is both cheerful yellow and Provencal blue," he calculates, not forgetting to brag. "And there was also a place for useful crops, so I have fantastic cucumbers, beautiful peppers and I also managed a delicious strawberry," he laughs.

So half of the garden has already undergone a miraculous transformation, but the other is yet to come. "I like it when things are done properly, so I'm in no hurry. I'd rather wait than remake it, "he explains.

The three-storey villa was almost drowned in the garden, not only the unmaintained land, but also the soil deposits at the foot of the house. "We had the soil dug around a few meters around the house, so we managed to make enough space for a terrace and patio, but at the same time insulation was made around the house, so we got rid of the moisture and it no longer flows into the house," he praises.

Like the whole villa, the basement has been completely renovated, including plaster. Thanks to this, a very cozy and at the same time comfortable apartment unit was created on the lowest floor of the house, which also includes an art studio, in which Júlia can give way to her ambitions.

"When I couldn't sing at the time of the covid, I started to realize myself more in painting. I love paintings and painting is another opportunity for me to express myself artistically, "she explains the motives that drive her in front of the canvas.

Wood is wood

As for the equipment, the owners bet on security. "Fortunately, my husband and I have the same taste, so we didn't have to compromise on furniture. We both like rustic furniture made of solid wood and leather. These are things that radiate solidity, and it is certain that something will last. "

Julia also added a recent story. "We also have one technical room here, so we bought today's furniture, which is made of plywood, and everyone still has to assemble it at home. In a word, terrible. It doesn't seem like it could withstand any heavier loads at all, but rather I think it will soon unfold. Particleboard is simply not a massif, "says the singer with a laugh.

In addition to large and solid furniture, the popularity of the owners in indirect lighting cannot be overlooked. Although they have a classic light on the ceiling, the interior is also filled with a number of lamps.

"I like that this allows you to control the intensity of the light in the room, and also if only certain lights are on, it gives the room a different atmosphere than when something else is on," the singer explains. She started working again and toured with her brother Peter Heček, they recently released a new song Ruže pre Marie.

"Peťo texted it and wrote it and it is composed in memory of Marie Fredriksson from the Roxette group, so it has such juice," concluded Júlia Hečková.
