Nachod wants to push the museum out of its building to have a place for officials

The city rented the museum building 14 years ago.At that time, the Hradec Králové Region paid almost five million crowns for its reconstruction, elevator and suitable premises for the collection of paintings. After years, the museum moved from the castle and finally anchored to the square within reach of the Brouček House No. 18, where it has a permanent exhibition.

Now, however, it may happen that about twenty museums and offices, workshops and collections will move again.Maybe even ends outside Nachod. The city gave them a deadline at the end of this year, but gradually compromising.

“The building rental contract has been valid for us for more than ten years. In addition, the region invested in house no. 1 money that is depreciated from the lease.I consulted the current proposal of the city with a lawyer and to terminate this contract two parties, ie agreement. But in a situation where there is no alternative for us and when we neither the city nor the founder we did not get any plan B, we can no longer agree from the instinct of self-preservation to terminate the contract by such an agreement, ”said the director of the Sixtus Bolom Museum against the last move to the last DecemberKotari.

Only in his work since the spring of last year, the museum has invested in house no. 1 beyond the rental of rent around 300 thousand crowns in the equipment of depositories, research rooms and library and the renewal of the telephone exchange.

The director says he understands the claim for the house, but if the city does not want to wait for the contract, it should offer other suitable premises. In addition, the city will have to deal with the region that paid the construction renewal.

In addition, the museum will also need money to move and store collections. There are also considerations that an old house in Kladská Street could be pulled down, where a new background would be created.

The whole event provoked that the city again lacks space for officials, although it bought a house in Zámecká Street, last year repaired it for 27 million crowns with a subsidy and since the turn of the year opened its trade unions. The office left a much larger building of the court and returned it to the state. The officials thus operate at three addresses, but the Neo -Renaissance town hall on the square will not take many of them.

“We have investment techniques together with the spa department, people from the Department of Culture mixed with tourism. It's complicated, more people sit together in the office, and when a visit comes, they don't have peace of mind.We have evaluated this situation, but we are not considering buying another house or renting, ”explains Mayor Jan Birke (ČSSD).

Náchod chce vystrnadit muzeum ze své budovy, aby měl místo pro úředníky

He would like to see the new office directly on the square instead of museum offices.“When we are owned by house No. 1 on the square, I do not consider it appropriate if the museum uses these rented spaces in such a lucrative place for the headquarters and depositories. In our opinion, it would be ideal if we could merge in the old town hall in one place officials dealing with culture, tourism, spa and festival Náchod Prima season. We do not want to be in the role of a naughty child towards the region, so I set out letters to the governor, deputy and museum director. We will accept the financial share for the region's expenditure in the construction of the elevator. On the other hand, some repairs await us there, ”describes the mayor.

According to him, there is no other way that the city would solve the lack of space for the office. And if the museum headquarters were located outside Nachod, they see no problem in it.

The contract for renting a house built in the 17th century is valid between the city and the museum until 2035. The councilors recently tried to terminate it by attacked the museum that they had installed air conditioning. When it turned out that the current deputy mayor Pavla Maršíková (KDU-ČSL) sanctified the construction work with its signature, the city turned and tried to terminate the contract with the Museum.

“Not a statement”

The procedure of Náchod was somewhat taken aback by the regional management, as the Pravo Governor Jiří Štěpán, Birke's party colleague, admitted in the daily. The Governor's Deputy for Culture has no choice but to negotiate with Nachod.

"If we do not agree on staying the museum in the existing building, several variants of the move are considered to use other regional property, commercial rent or solution in cooperation with one of the cities where the branches of the Náchod Museum are already located," notes the regional councilor for culture Martina Berdychová (East Bohemia).

Not even the deadline for eviction to this year's 31st December will probably not be so strict. At the end of July, the mayor of Birke met a regional councilor in Náchod.

“We were clear that it was not a testimony.I assured the deputy that until there was an adequate place for depositories, we would not demand the museum. In September we will meet again, representatives of the museum and the region will already know some variants and the move will be prepared in coordinated, ”says the mayor.

Museum staff feel that smaller cities are more accommodating more than Náchod, where the institution is just one of many.

“It would not be appropriate to leave Nachod, but it is also a matter of self -government.The mayor sees this that the headquarters can reside anywhere else, and it is essential that there is an exhibition in the city where people go.Of course, this second house on the square No. 18, which is owned by the region, will not leave. But due to the parallel work on the upcoming renovation of the Brouček House with exhibitions, it may happen that at one point all parts of the museum will be closed. The house with the exhibition will be reconstructed, the background of the museum may be moved somewhere and we may not even be able to meet the requirements because of the utilization of other things, so for two years the museum in Nachod will stop working completely, ”says the director.

In that case, the museum would only organize occasional events.According to him, it will now show whether the stay of the museum in Nachod is important to the local cultural public.
