In Czech households, according to experts, they still have hundreds of thousands of old solid fuel boilers, which will not be legally operated in addition soon. Many households have the opportunity to switch to more modern heating technology.Natural gas seems to be an optimal solution, but there are a significant number of municipalities without gasification in the Czech Republic.A very economical and clean heat source can be a heat pump, but it is also offered to use LPG or propane from a tank that is not dependent on the distribution network.Let's look at both ways of heating in more detail.

In September 2022, the opportunity to heat at home with old solid fuel boilers will end the first and second emission class and these boilers will no longer be legally operated.Otherwise, there will be high fines of up to tens of thousands of crowns.According to the Association of Enterprises Enterprises, 330,000 boilers were in operation at the beginning of 2021, which would have to be shut down."Many Czech households are expected to replace the heat source, which is a good opportunity for its modernization and the transition to cleaner and more economical heating," says Jiří Karlík from Primagas, which supplies natural gas and clean propane for household heating. The solution is offered to the gas transition. However, the natural gas distribution system is not available everywhere, and it is not just a remote border area, but also about the wider surroundings of Prague or the South Bohemian Region.

Heat pump: cheap heat, expensive device

One of the possibilities that households - mainly owners of family houses - can heat is a heat pump. This is one of the most economical and economically very efficient heat sources. It works on electricity, which is actually its great advantage, because it is then possible to operate this device in locations without the distribution system of natural gas.According to the so -called heating factor, the heat pump can produce even five kilowatt -hours of heat from one kilowatt hour of electricity consumed. In addition, it is comfortably controlled and regulated.

In general, however, the heat pump is particularly suitable for well -insulated buildings with lower heat consumption for heating.Especially for air-to-water heat pumps that draw heat from the air, it is necessary to take into account the higher noise of the outer unit. The ground-water heat pumps that use heat from the surrounding terrain work, although they work more energy efficiently, but it is necessary to build either ground borehole or collector during installation. And the investment in the already costly facility is more expensive.

Also beware of maintenance costs during its life. The technology in the heat pump will last for quite a long time, even for decades, but with a single exception, which is a compressor. It is the key and, according to experts, also a very delicate part and its exchange means costs in the order of thousands of crowns.

Gas from the magazine: lower investment, long lifetime

However, people do not have to limit themselves to electricity or solid fuels in non -healing sites. Here, too, it is possible to replace the old unsatisfactory boiler with a modern gas source, which offers unattended operation compared to solid fuels and does not require large storage spaces.Instead of classic natural gas, the boiler uses LPG in the form of a pure propane supplied to the tank and is therefore independent of the distribution network.

,, Propane allows you to take advantage of all the benefits of gas heating, such as economical and clean operation and cooking on the gas stove, in locations where other gas heating would not be possible. One 4,850 liter container will provide 27 megawatt hours of energy, which should be sufficient for annual heating and heating of water in a regular family house, "says Jiří Karlík from Primagas and adds that the price for gas from the magazine is almost comparable to the gas network gas.LPG prices are the lowest, "adds Jiří Karlík.

The big advantage of gas heating is generally long life and economical operation, as modern condensing boilers offer high efficiency up to 108 percent. This is due to the fact that they also use condensation heat of flue gas.Compared to the heat pump, the operation of the gas boiler is slightly more expensive, but the boiler itself is much cheaper. These are also smaller devices that can be installed in the kitchen or hallway. For propane, of course, it is necessary to count on the cost of the project, landscaping due to the installation of the magazine and the like, but the magazine itself does not need to be bought, the LPG supplier usually rents it at a symbolic price.

Advantages and disadvantages of heat pump:

+ Using green electricity is an ecological energy source

Čím nahradit kotel na tuhá paliva, když nemáte přípojku plynu? Smysl dává tepelné čerpadlo i propan ze zásobníku

+ Very cheap heat source

+ Easy to regulate

- an expensive device

- Air-water heat pump noise

- In case of severe frosts lower efficiency and higher costs due to greater use of electricity

Advantages and disadvantages of propan heating:

+ Lower initial investment

+ Universal energy source - easy heating control and comfortable cooking "gas"

+ Independence from distribution networks and long life of the device

- compared to the heat pump slightly more expensive operation

- Chimney lining and condensate drainage required

- landscaping around the house due to the installation of the magazine (above ground, underground, semi -decorated)
