Founded in 1992 as the Private Secondary Horticultural School of Horticulture, since 1993 as the Private Secondary Horticultural School of Management and Trade, since 2007 it has been definitively renamed the Floristic Secondary School, which is the only one in the Czech Republic to prepare experts in this field. It is the largest school of its kind in Europe, with around 200 students studying in four grades.

Its graduates continue successfully at universities, even abroad. It took many years to promote the name "floristic". "You can't be called that, the flora is a mourning party," were the reservations of officials from the Ministry of Education ...

Even during the First Republic, in addition to Germany and the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia also belonged to the elite in the field. Textbooks of floristry by Czech authors of the time are still remembered in Australia.

"As early as 1926, for example, in the first Czech textbook on flower arranging, Mr. Vaněk emphasized that it is necessary to clean every wire that supports a flower with so-called gutta-percha tape," says Radka Jedličková.

The founder of the school, Ing. Miroslav Jindra, received in 2009 from the Minister of Education an award for long-term and meritorious activities in education.
