Two large baskets of moss

Bethlehem with eleven wooden buildings and more than two hundred figures of people and animals is three and deep over one and a half meters. The width occupies virtually the entire room on the floor of the culture house where it is exhibited.

"I built him at home for three days and here it was no better.I had to bring it twice, we went by van, but it didn't even take it.I have two large baskets of moss, to that still hay.Moss we dry the moon, then slowly build figures. They must be completely dry because the figures are made of sawdust and resin, pull moisture and begin to crumble, ”explains Dušan Březina.

Restoration of crèches cost husband Březin, their family, friends and known a lot of time and effort. The original nativity scene was conceived in the eastern spirit and literally full of colors. At one cottage, they were replaced up to fourteen.

“I got the nativity scene at Hromnice 2018, I grind it all over the winter and since September, October I started to paint it slowly.I just wanted to leave it only painted but old acetone colors climbed to the surface and it was ugly.So I put the timbered buildings in the yellow, I painted the roofs brown, ”explains the color concept of the work of its owner.

The only movable part is the windmill. After stretching, its propeller begins to turn."I put grain in the tragar, on the other hand there is a ground flour in Misha," Dušan Březina shows.

Different material but not plastic

The crèches are interesting in that they resemble the village and Noah's Ark at the same time.Near the traditional scene of Jesus in the manger stands dozens of animals, Central and exotic. In addition to sheep, deer and chamois, elephant, giraffes, camels or monkeys are lifted.

"I wanted every king to have his camel and an elephant.I bought figures on internet bazaars to make it complete.A few figures were lost, ”says Bludovský native.

Although there are figures made of different materials, none of them is plastic.

At a time when Dušan Březina was building a nativity scene in the living room, his home was replaced by four hundred people during the Christmas period. This year's holidays will probably have calmer.

Březin's nativity scene will be seen in the operating hour of the Bludov House of Culture: Monday from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday from 8.30 to 14, Wednesday from 9.30 to 15 and Thursday to 8.30 to 11 o'clock. It will also be accessible during the Advent on weekends from 1 pm to 5 pm.
