Apartments and Cafe Dačický: Seven Century of the Kutná Hora House

"Architecture is a dialogue between what we know and the future we are still imagining," says Kutná Hora native Tereza Komárková.Therefore, in the proposal tried to take into account the seven centuries on which the house stands.

From the Gothic, the building of the cellar and peripheral structures and the stone lining of the quarreled window remained.Baroque emerges through a 16 -meter -long admirable roofing ground floor of the entire building.Modern history has not entered the house of the house too happy. The architect, however. For new purposes revealed its structure.

Seven apartments, each other

Each of the seven centuries that blended with the house influenced the formation of a total of seven apartments. The Royal Apartment remembers the time when King Wenceslas IV stayed in the rich Kutná Hora.

The Dačice apartment, like the whole house and the café, is named after an important Kutná Hora native, the burgher and the writer Mikuláš to Dačický of Heslov.

The silver apartment refers to the name also due to the most famous Kutná Hora item.

A wooden apartment reveals what other valuable commodity was.It is only up to the guest to choose accommodation according to his mood and nature. For example, there is a north -oriented mining room created for visitors who like to sleep."Many good solutions arise from the use of the original disadvantage," recalls architect Tereza Komárková.

The team encountered several obstacles in realization. For example, the original intention to pour the floor of the attic of lightweight concrete due to static and organizational complications failed to fulfill. The solution was eventually the beam grid placed in the height of horizontal roof structures, which in places reached a difference of 30 cm between their top and the next layer, and folded with OSB boards.Preserved oak beams were also unveiled during the reconstruction."We didn't want to hide this unexpected discovery. In order to be proud of it, it was necessary to add fire -resistant boards and special coatings, "says investor Pavel Cikler.

Throughout the house, the motif of a triangle and hexagon is repeated on metal shelves, lighting, tiles or tiles. One of the investor's requirements was to balance the quality and price. Therefore, the implementation team has taken the use of cuttings from the production of ceramic tiles for the floor and walls of the common backyard.

Mikuláš Dačický of Heslova

The relationship of investors to the history of the house itself and Kutná Hora was reflected several years ago when entering the Cafe Dačický project. The café is dominated by a portrait of Nicholas Dačický of Heslov.

From the rich and turbulent history, for example, beam ceilings, stone structures and arched cellar axis remained. As part of the reconstruction, a significant selling polygon wall was added, which brings the backlit stories of regional winery from Kutná Hora and Moravia, and a cooled showcase in the bar with a sweet offer. The new interior blends black color and copper shades whose choice was not random.Copper was used to protect vineyards. At the back of the house is a confectionery kitchen with daylight and vaulted views of the inner courtyard, which have guests from the apartments.
